This was the first liturgical project I installed at Grace Episcopal Church. The fabric panels were nailed to the overhead beams in three rows, placed directly over the altar.
The video at the bottom of the page shows progressive images of the installation process. I had a team of assistants who helped steady and move the ladder and cut and organize the lengths of fabric as I needed them. One took photographs of the process.
The semi-transparent fabrics, in red and orange, were left to hang loose so that the air currents within the building would cause them to ripple and flutter, producing an effect similar to the movement of flames of fire.
