Three-Color Polyester Plate Lithographic Print

5 1/2" x 4"

This image is derived from a drawing of the Virgin and Child made by Michelangelo. One of the color layers is text concerning the birth of Jesus as recounted in the book of Matthew. Tyrus was introduced to the printing technique by George Roberts, former professor of printmaking at Boise State University. Roberts innovated this less toxic technique and promoted less toxic forms of printmaking in general. He is missed.
